Dinner and Speaker this Thursday, February 27

Dinner at 7pm with a presentation at 8pm.  Our speaker is Virginia Doocey, Executive Director of the North Region of Catholic Charities.  Ms. Doocey's remarks will focus on Catholic Charities past, present and future mission. She will stress Catholic Charities' track record in transforming lives at every stage of the life cycle.

To take place at the St. Mary Star of the Sea Convent at 15 Chapman Street in downtown Beverly.  Please RSVP to GK Brian Butler at 978-927-4311.  A goodwill donation of $15 is requested to defray costs of the evening's catered dinner.

 The Knights of Columbus speakers' dinner program is open to both men and women beyond Council 175 and the Beverly Collaborative of Catholic parishes.  The Knights of Columbus Council 175 Speaker's Dinner Program "Steak and Stories" is scheduled for the fourth Thursday of each month through 2014.

The schedule of speakers through June, 2014 follows:

* March-Michael Lavigne, director, New Evangelization-Life Long Faith Foundation and Parish Support, Archdiocese of Boston;

*April- Father Daniel Hennessey, director, Vocations, Archdiocese of Boston, -Encouraging vocations and supporting seminarians;

* May-Scot Landry, former Secretary for Media, Archdiocese of Boston and current host Catholic Radio / Catholic Voices;

*June-Deacon James Greer, director, Pastoral Care, Archdiocese of Boston, outreach for hospitals,home care, those incarcerated in prisons, as well as bereavement care and suicide prevention programs.

After a summer hiatus the speakers program will resume in September.

The Council 175 Speakers Program was inspired by Grand Knight Brian Butler to shine a light on those working to transform lives and spread the Good News of the Gospel.
